KUALA LUMPUR: QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd has appointed Tan Sri Jamaludin Ibrahim as chairman effective today. Prior to this new appointment, Jamaludin’s last executive position was at Axiata Group Bhd where he retired on Dec 31,2020. He was the managing director/president and group CEO for almost 13 years since Axiata’s inception in 2008. Jamaludin was also the former group CEO of Maxis Communications Bhd. With over 40 years of experience, Jamaludin’s wealth of knowledge includes about 16 years in IT and 23 years in telecommunications, in addition to being involved in various capacities in the education sector, said QSR Brands in a statement. Jamaludin is a member of the country’s Economic Action Council. He is also a member of the national Digital Economy and Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) Council. Both councils are chaired by the Prime Minister. He has also served the government in many other roles. Over the years, Jamaludin has earned numerous awards and accolades in recognition for his contributions and achievements by local and international organisations. Among others, he was awarded the “Telecommunications CEO of the Year” by Telecom Asia Awards in 2010.
